Photo Tips
- It is important to choose the right photo. The clarity of the photograph you select makes a considerable difference in the finial artwork. Use only photographs that do not violate copyright agreements.
- The photo must be sharply focused and clear.
- The minimum size of the head should be no less than 2 inches measured from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
- 4 by 6 or larger photos are preferred.
- Eyes should be clear and there needs to be a distinction between the iris and pupil of the eye (if possible).
- Sufficient lighting is essential. No dark shadows, especially to the face area. Hair should be light enough to determine. Picture should not be so light that subjects are not distinguishable. Side lighting is best. If subject is wearing glasses, make sure there is not too much glare from the lenses.
You may mail or email your image by scanning your photo(s) at 300 dpi into a jpg format. Use 1280 x 1024 or higher for best results. Kinko's offers scanning and/or computer services if you do not have access to a scanner or computer.
